Located on the banks of the famous Kenai River only minutes from Soldotna, you'll feel as though you were miles away from town. Our four acres of heaviy treed property provides a haven for moose and other wildlife and birds. While red salmon can be caught from the bank, king salmon almost always require the use of a boat. Silver salmon can also be caught from the bank as can rainbow trout but it is generally much easier if fishing from a boat. If you are into golfing, there are three golf courses within a 10 mile radius. There are hiking trails and sightseeing opportunities around every corner. The Kenai River is famous for its sportfishing opportunities but other fishing is available in nearby Cook Inlet as well as other nearby streams. Krog's Kamp is perfectly situated like the hub of a wheel, centrally located to a myriad of activities. Come and join the Krog's Kamp family, you'll be glad you did.
Our accommodations range from modern deluxe chalets to casual rustic cabins. There are three attached chalets overlooking the river and front lawn. These units are tastefully appointed with modern furnishings. All have large decks where you can sit and watch the river. The interiors have plush wall to wall carpeting and coordinated furniture and fixtures. All beds have good postupedic mattresses for a great night's sleep. The living rooms will accommodate 8 people comfortably so if you want to have company, you'll have plenty of room. The bedrooms are outfitted with hand made quilts for a warm and friendly feeling. Our cabins are similarly decorated only on a smaller scale. All kitchens are well equipped with everything you will need. Simply bring in your groceries and you are ready to cook. All units have gas grills as well.
We do not permit pets in our units. Also, our units are non smoking. We do permit smoking on the covered decks outside the units. We have no limit on age or gender although we caution people with small children about the river. Children under age 12 are required to wear a life vest and be accompanied by an adult if out near the river.
We offer fishing charters, flyout fishing, wildlife viewing, clamming, sightseeing tours, marine tours, horseback riding, hiking tours, flightseeing, and rental vehicles. If you want to do it and we don't offer it directly, we will find it for you. Allow us to take the effort out of planning your vacation...... we can help at no additional charge.
All rooms are equipped with twin beds which can be made into kingsize beds. We have endeavored to make our accommodations first class and we believe you will agree. Our river view chalets are linked together and can be opened into one large building for large groups if desired.
All of our chalets and cabins have TV/VCRs and we have a large supply of loaner tapes available for our guests to use. There is free wifi for our guests. We also have a new large hot tub, a large sauna, and a well equipped exercise cabin. Masseuse services are available with appointment. We offer use of our computers for checking email. We can accommodate small conferences as well.
We can arrange for most services our guests want. If you want breakfast in bed, we can accommodate. If you want a massage, we can arrange it. Just let us know your wishes and we will do everything we can to accommodate.
Our rates for accommodations only vary from $165 per person per day for our deluxe units to $125 per person per day for our economy units, both based on double occupancy. Adventure packages range in price from $1250 - $3500 per person depending on length of stay and fishing activities pursued. Additional expenses include fishing license, sales tax, and fish processing.
Check for availability as it changes from day to day. To confirm reservations, we require a 50% deposit within 14 days of booking. Remainder to be paid at the completion of trip.
Take the Seward Highway south out of Anchorage. About 1.5 to 2 hours out of town, you'll see a cutoff to Homer, Kenai, and Soldotna. This cutoff puts you onto the Sterling Highway (Alaska 1) which will take you west across the Kenai Peninsula to Soldotna. At Soldotna, take the Kenai Spur Highway off the Sterling Highway to mile 1.75. Turn left onto Big Eddy Road. One mile down Big Eddy Road on the left you'll find our sign and driveway.
