The trek to Everest Base Camp requires a steady pace and enough acclimatization that is our focus. Since Sir Edmund Hilary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa first successfully climbed the mountain (8848m) on May 29th, 1953, many adventure-seeking tourists follow the trail. Everest base camp trek is suitable for any and every age group as there are different routes and travel styles to choose from. Though the trek starts from Jiri, nowadays it is easier to start from Lukla and end in Lukla.
After trekking through the panoramic villages and being familiar with the Sherpa. The way of life and passing the Dudh Koshi River and the trek also provides with some resting periods to get used to the climate. The Everest Base Camp Trekking is a kind of preparation before actually ascending the Mt. Everest as it involves going through extreme weather conditions and similar challenges. Like any other Everest related trek, you take a flight to Lukla after a day rest and sightseeing in Kathmandu. Since flights depend on weather conditions, helicopters are available for luxury seeking trekkers. Major Highlights of Everest Base Camp Trekking
The major highlight of the Everest Base Camp Trekking starts from Namche Bazaar, the trekkers' junction point; where there are hubs to see, eat and shop. From there, a monastery also called Dawa Choling Gompa, at Tengboche, Khumjung (3867m). Which welcomes you to get familiar with monks daily routine and their culture. Places like Dingboche, Lobuche and Gorekshep are also worth visiting because of the hospitable service that the villagers provide.
When you reach Everest Base Camp, the place Kalapathhar awaits with astounding scenes of snowy peaks of Khumbu Glacier, Nuptse and the south-west face of Everest itself. The view looks better in the winter season or just after the summer ends.
