The Virginia Cliffe Inn, a Bed & Breakfast just outside of Richmond, VA, is nestled among the trees in the settlement of Glen Allen just twelve miles north of Richmond.
The Virginia Cliffe Inn is one mile east of Meadow Farm - a living history museum of a Virginia farm in the 1800s. Historic Walkerton Tavern is located one property over to our east and the Glen Allen Cultural Arts Center is located directly behind our facilities. Ten minutes south is the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden at Bloemendaal - a must-see garden with many exotic and foreign species as well as Virginia native plants. In addition, for all of you green thumb enthusiast, an herb farm is right up the road where you can also grab lunch or a spot of tea. And for a bit more history, the home of Patrick Henry "Scotchtown" is a comfortable 30 minuite scenic 16 mile drive away. The Inn and the spacious gardens are a lovely location for weddings and receptions - inside or out. The grounds include flower gardens with a fountain, a waterfall, and a pond with swans and ducks. Many brides choose our charming gazebo for the site of their plantation style outdoor wedding.
On the grounds we have a meeting house suitable for rehearsal dinners, business meetings and seminars. Scheduled weddings are often combined with accommodations for family, guests and the wedding party.
The spacious guest rooms, each with a newly-renovated private bath, are individually decorated. Each room has a TV/VCR. The furnishings, decorations and old fashioned quilts will remind you of times gone by.
In the winter you can sip spiced tea in front of the fireplace in the wood-paneled den. In the summer you can sit in the back yard overlooking the rose garden and enjoy a cool drink.
A light breakfast is served each morning at 7 a.m. for early risers and a full breakfast follows at 8:30 a.m. with a large selection of home cooked food.
Take Interstate-95 exit 84B to Interstate-295 west. Travel two miles to exit 45B-Woodman Road south. Turn right on Mountain Road at the first stoplight. The Virginia Cliffe Inn is one mile on the right.
