Up close eco-swamp tours aboard Cajun crawfish skiffs through a swamp well known for it's scenic beauty and wildlife. See alligators, egrets, herons, anhinga, etc. in natural surroundings. Owner is Cajun native has college degree Zoology and Botany
The tour boats are custom built Cajun crawfishing skiffs designed to get you into the heart of the swamp and off the main roads. They are 28 feet long and can accommodate 19 people each. The seats are well padded and very comfortable. Boats are powered by very quiet and environmentally friendly 4-stroke outboard motors.
Tours are conducted in Cypress Island Swamp which surrounds Lake Martin. The area has a very large wading bird rookery, board walk and walking trail through the swamp supervised by Nature Conservancy who also maintain a welcome center on the south end of the area.
Depending on the weather, time of year, and time of day you can commonly see alligators, egrets, herons, anhinga, osprey, bald eagle, owl, and turtle. These animals will be in natural surroundings of cypress/tupelo swamp.
