Kitty Hawk is a great place to learn how to fly a Hang Glider ... why do you think the Wright Brothers chose Kitty Hawk over 100 years ago?! Soft sand dunes of Jockey's Ridge State Park and consistent coastal winds off the ocean and large sounds provide great conditions for Hang Gliding all year.
You should expect to walk, jog and run on the sand dunes for a few hours during your lesson. No experience is required to take a lesson with Kitty Hawk Kites.
most lessons are about 3 hours long. Your first lesson will include 45 minutes in a classroom setting called "Ground School" and then you'll spend about 2 hours on the sand dunes completing your 5 training flights. In total you should expect a little over 3 hours for the entire experience.
