Founded fifteen years ago, Artbreak is an active learning vacation to renew your mind, heart, and spirit midst the most beautiful city in Europe. After a three year pause due to Covid, Artbreak is back!
Artbreak is a meticulously crafted vacation for adventurous individuals who love the creative arts, and who enjoy expanding their personal creative and cultural horizons through travel.
Whether you always wanted to try your hand at sculpting or painting, share time with artists who care deeply about creative expression, or simply see night after night of breathtaking performances, Artbreak is meant for you.
In 2023 Artbreak is returning to two of the most beautiful European cities. Prague in May and Florence in October. Prague Artbreak gives our clients intimate access to Prague's artistic world via a varied sequence of morning workshops with local artists in which you can explore a number of media including drawing, painting, sculpture and film animation. Several afternoons we'll be keeping you inspired, too: you can count on an awe-inspiring city walking tour with a licensed architectural guide, afternoon gallery visits, and wine tasting. And what further distinguishes Artbreak from all other vacation offerings in Prague is our evening events: you will see the best of what is available, in great seats, at the opera, the symphony, renowned jazz clubs, and wonderful avant garde performances that tourists never find on their own. There is also ample free time during your afternoons to wander Prague's medieval streets, write in your personal journal or just relax.
Artbreak has a lightly-structured small-group context, so you will not feel alone in a strange city, but neither will you feel like you are on a package tour. The Artbreak format also engenders an extraordinarily friendly atmosphere, due to participants' shared enthusiasm for the arts and the lively exchanges of ideas with local artists. Our participants have ranged in age from 20 to 89, with a median age of about 52. Most develop long-term friendships during their week at Artbreak, and one of our proudest accomplishments is the global community that has been created by the opportunity to encounter the arts here in Prague.
Artbreak participants stay at a four-star hotel in the exclusive embassy district, located ten minutes from the center by tram. One of the best breakfasts available in Prague is provided. We provide a welcoming dinner and farewell lunch. Eating out in Prague is not expensive, and we've learned that Artbreak participants universally want the adventure of choosing their own restaurants and their own menus.
None! The Artbreak concept was inspired by university research findings that creative expression, learning, and a supportive community are the master keys to happiness. Morning at Artbreak is not a master class for professional artists but a chance for ordinary people to relish the catharsis and fun of artistic expression. Many of our participants are professional artists who want to try new media; and just as many of our participants have had no experience of art since grade school, but want to create.
The coming Artbreak and closest booking is a 6-day event in Prague from May 21 to May 27 2023 Florence Artbreak is a 6-day event from October 1 - 7 2023
