The Saltair Inn is an 1886 Victorian B&B located 3 blocks from the center of town on an acre of waterfront property. The Saltair has been carefully renovated to accommodate guests while preserving the original architecture and period elements of its Victorian heritage. Each accommodation offers thoughtful appointments and amenities appreciated by modern travelers without compromising the historic legacy of the home.
The inn is within easy walking distance to everything in the village, yet far enough removed to preserve the peaceful tranquility of its distinguished location in the Historic District. The Saltair offers waterfront suites with king-size beds, elegant private baths, multiple fireplaces, TV/DVD/WIFI, full breakfast, and private sitting rooms overlooking the Bay.
An expansive back lawn slopes gently from the rear of the house to the water's edge where low tide reveals a sand bar connecting the Saltair property to Bar Island, from which Bar Harbor takes its name. A full breakfast is served between 8:00 and 9:00 AM on the rear deck or in the formal dining room overlooking the Bay. For early risers, fresh-brewed gourmet coffee is ready by 7:00.
Saltair is a smoke-free and pet-free B&B.
