The trip is an exciting but not demanding one. We will have some longer days than others where we will have to cover a particular distance. Lots of river crossings so riders would experience the local way of travelling and have fun. Some steep up hills and undulating terrain could turn just a bit more demanding if the weather is not good. This adventure ride is an excellent way of managing lots of different terrain and being able to ride one of the toughest horse breed in the world. Clients will canter on open ground, trotting in the forest or simply enjoying at their own relaxing pace.
Consult for children under 9 years. You can come with your couple or friends. We depart with a minimum of 2 persons and up to 10 riders but the Andes Grande Traversée, with space only for 8 riders.
We stay in some comfortable rustic and clean farm houses typical of the Puelo Valley. Food will be organically and locally grown from the local gardens and meat will be cooked as in its most delicious Chilean asado. The cuisine on the trip would be a mix of special blend of flavours and ingredients. It consists of an ethnic variety of gastronomic Creole-Chilean style. A typical European wood stove gives its special flavour to the dishes. Depending on season, it is possible to taste the delicious rainbow trout, fontinalis, or salmon trout. The Creole barbecue “Asado al palo†or “Asado al Asador†is served during several meals. It consists of a tasty lamb cooked with plenty of embers and fire wood. As main local dishes, people cook them in different ways usually accompanied with salad, potatoes and Chilean red wine.
