A old country Cottage, and a Alpine Cabin are in a forest looking down to the Shuswap river and a private beach. Canoe, kayaks, bikes, and lake zodiac, all supplied. We focus on tranquility, beauty and hospitality.
A tranquil vacation in beautiful accommodation is available in the valley of the Shuswap River. Our two charming guest houses look out from the forest over the meadow and down to the river and the private beach. Wildlife abounds, and birds sing. The mountains rise up to wilderness areas, and there are lovely lakes and waterfalls nearby. Whether you want a quiet rest, or a base from which to explore the area... you will be pleased!
The Old World (Victorian) Cottage is in a old country flower garden and is furnished with lovely antiques, artworks and books. The tower dining room has stained glass windows, the large living room has a lovely gas fireplace, the master bedroom has a lace canopy four poster bed, there is a second bedroom with a single bed. There is a full bathroom, and a full kitchen which has some basic foodstuffs included.... The Alpine Cabin is more rustic, and hand carved, smaller but with a jetted tub.
The Cottage is designed to sleep 3 adults (not appropriate for children or pets because of the antiques). There is a full bathroom inside, and additionally a shower and toilet outside in a separate washhouse, which has a washer and dryer. In addition, there is the Alpine Cabin, which can take 2 adults and 2 children. The Cabin also has a full bathroom (but only a kitchenette.)
Your host is usually available as he lives at a distance on the property, and can supply whatever you need. We like to talk to our guests when they wish, and yet respect their privacy. The host's wife Marjorie can interpret natural flora and fauna, and there is a hiking path up the mountain behind.
The Old World (Victorian) Cottage is restricted to adults, and is also a non-pet, non-smoking place. The other guest house, the Alpine Cabin was designed with two adults and two children in mind, and is also non-smoking.
2025 Mabel Lake Road,, Enderby,, British Columbia V0E 1V0
Not counting the international airport at Vancouver, the nearest airport of any size is at Kelowna. We are an hour and a quarter drive north of there. Coming from the south to Enderby on Highway 97 turn right at the only traffic light, and continue over the river and out 20 km. Of course, coming from the north (Highway #1 at Sicamous or Salmon Arm) you will turn off 97 towards the left.) We are at 2025 Mabel Lake Road, which is 20 and one quarter km. from the bridge at Enderby. Very logical!?!
