Days 1 thru 3 - Na Pali Coast: Aloha! We meet on Kauai, the "Garden Isle", for a hike to the peak of Sleeping Giant mountain. Swim, snorkel, and relax before a sunset barbecue on the beach. Hike the Na Pali Coast Trail where sea cliffs tower over ocean beaches and waterfalls plunge 2500 feet to the beach below. The abundant sea life defies description as we snorkel in the protected waters of Ke'e Beach. Overnight at Barker's Bed and Breakfast. Hike the rim of renowned Waimea Canyon, the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. Here lush tropical forests astonish us with an incredible diversity of life and panoramic overlooks present breath-taking canyon views.
Days 4 thru 5 - Maui: Following a scenic flight to Maui we walk a lush wooded path till it becomes a ridgeline trail with panoramic views falling away in all directions. Perched high in the Maui Mountains, the charming Silver Cloud Ranch is our home. Hike into the Haleakala caldera to view lavishly colored rock formations and rare plants in the largest crater on earch.
Days 6 thru 7 - Valcanoes National Park: Fly to the "Big Island". Glimpse Hawaii's past with the exploration of an ancient temple. Lush botanical gardens surround our historic inn. Hike around Kilauea, the world's most active valcano. Listen as crackling lava and tremors attest to the awesome power of nature. Dine on the beach where we usually witness molten lava hissing as it meets the blue Pacific.
Days 8 thru 10 - Waipio Valley: A rim trail passes through towering bamboo forests and exotic plants to glorious views in a lush volcanic canyon Today is a day of wind, waves, and sunshine on the powdery white sands of Hapuna Beach. Enjoy an authentic luau at the home of a Hawaiian family. Overnight at a comfortable lodge. Shop, swim, or go for an optional whale watching cruise before our trip ends.
