Combine cooking with history or simply enjoy the beautiful Norman countryside - Enjoy a 6 day break where you'll cook with Sinéad, your Irish-born hostess, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and explore for yourself the best of Normandy on Tuesdays and Thursdays. A typical week may include: Arrival on Sunday afternoon Sunday evening supper of cheese and wine Monday: Continental Breakfast Market visit in neighbouring medieval town of Bricquebec Cookey class #1 Leisurely lunch Visit to an organic cider farm and tasting of cider products.
Tuesday: Carte Blanche Day! Continental Breakfast during which we chat about the endless possible visits to ensure you get the best from you Norman experience on your day out of the kitchen.... D-Day beaches and musuems, Bayeux, Le Mont St Michel.... Wednesday: Continental Breakfast Food preparation for (afternoon) cookery class #2 Afternoon Cookery class with Francois in his 18th century bake-house - the most authentic and rustic of the French cookery experiences Dinner and drinks at La Blonderie Thursday: Carte Blanche day Friday: Continenral Breakfast Market visit to Les Pieux Cookery class #3 Leisurely lunch Saturday: Continental Breakfast after which we say our goodbyes! You'll go away laden with recipesand anecdotes, having experieced for yourself a real insight into the food culture and history of Normandy.
A typical one day cookery course: If you're lucky enough to be here on a Monday/Friday, market day - a must for all foodies, Sinéad will guide you around the (morning) market, picking up some of the ingredients necessary for your cookery lesson. Cookery lesson followed by a leisurely lunch washed down with a glass of local cider. The afternoon is yours to explore - in the knowledge that we will, of course, recommend visits. You'll certainly experience for yourself 'la vie en rose'!
All welcome! Families welcome! (20% reduction for children under 16 on the residential courses) There's something very special in educating children in good food and no better way than to cook together. Open to all curious about food, traditions and generally the french 'art de vivre'.
Enjoy comfortable accomodation in our studio apartment or romantic 'Maid's Quarters'located across the garden from the main house. Our self-contained loft apartment is perfect for families/groups of four with its 2 bedrooms, both ensuite.
