Mount Toubkal Ascent 2 day trek will give you the chance to enjoy panoramic views from Ait Mizain valley through the small villages of Imlil, then over the surroundings wild and colourful high mountains on the finishing way up to the summit. You will also enjoy lunch time breaks in the nature and tasting a variety of Moroccan Berber cuisine made by our experienced cook, freshly and safely cooked every day. Mount Toubkal 2 days Trek experience starts early morning from Marrakech, towards the high Atlas Mountains via Tahnaouet (local market on Tuesdays), Valley Ghighaya, Moulay Brahim gorges, Asni (market on Saturdays) then between terraced fields of vegetables, fruit trees (walnuts & cherries), arrival to Imlil at 1740m, meet the trekking team for your Mount toubkal summit : Guide, muleteer then start the trek between fields and surrounding villages of Imlil along the Ait Mizane valley, Taouerirte, Targa Imola, Tagadirte, Armed at 1900m then into the shrine of Sidi Chamharouch, at 2500m lunch next to the river, then continue to climb steadily to the Toubkal refuge at 3207m through snaking and zigzagging mule tracks. Overnight at the refuge. Approx. 5h30 walking.
An early start to catch sunrise from the summit of mount Toubkal, passing by the river into the south circle above the refuge and climb through an avalanche of boulders rocks (it's a challenging walk rather than a climb) then straightforward between giant rocks where the altitude will make steps very difficult in few parts before reaching the plateau from where you can enjoy the first lights of the sunset on the surrounding peaks above 4000m, a short walk to the summit with a panoramic views on each side of the mountain before finding ourselves on the top of north Africa after 3 hours walking, a beautiful view in every direction (to the north the plain of Marrakech and the northern valleys, lake villages, to the south Anti Atlas & Sahara), the time spent at the top will depend on the weather, approx. 30 minute will be enough before descending same way to the refuge which takes 2hours, lunch/rest then 3 hours 30mn walking down to Imlil retracing our steps and heading back to Marrakech.
