CBay Cottage of Governors Run is located in the Port Republic, Maryland area immediately on the Chesapeake Bay. We currently manage this delightful cottage. We're located within less-than-an hour from Washington D.C. or about 60 miles and our State Capital the same. We're 7 miles from the county seat, with smaller stores, including larger grocery stores. The area is considered "rural." With miles of hiking trails, managed by the American Chestnut Land Trust, you can relax and hike the trails or take a dip in the Bay

CBay Cottage is in a private beachfront community of 15 cottages. It is on a bluff about 25 feet above the beach and has easy access to the beach via a concrete stairway. The view is spectacular. The homes in this community were originally built in the 1940's and retain much of their original appeal. While the insides have been upgraded with central heat and air (and flushing toilets) the wooden German lap siding exterior has been lovingly restored. You won't find asbestos, vinyl or non-wood product in these cottages. It's almost like we're "green" without trying.

For an old home, cBay is very comfortable. While you visit the area for fishing, beach strolls, hiking the woods, searching the beach for historic sharks teeth, and relaxing, it does, sometimes, rain. So each cottage has full cable internet and television and some movies.

CBay Cottage sleeps 4 very comfortably with one double bed in one bedroom and another private bedroom with two single beds . No more than 4 adults are allowed. We like to think that we're a great vacation for a couple with two children or two couples. The cottage has one bathroom and a seasonal outdoor shower (April - October). You'll really enjoy the outside shower!

"Fluffy" will love the beach but we do have a pet-free policy. We provide accommodations to people from around the world and some folks may have allergies. Both cottages are strictly "Smoke Free" - outside on the deck is fine though. Renters must be at least 26 or accompanied by your momma or pop!
