Game Fish Lodge

Game Fish Lodge is located one hour's drive from Stone Town towards the north-east peninsula of Zanzibar, along the scenic Nungwi Coast.

Game Fish Lodge with its easygoing atmosphere will mellow you out in no time. It is a place to escape to and relax. The location of the Lodge allows you the seclusion of perfect tranquility yet close enough to enjoy the hustle and bustle of Nungwi Village. Beautiful sunrises are an everyday thrill for the early riser and moonlit nights, listening to the ocean, create an unforgettable experience.

Rooms

All the rooms have their own patio with a wonderful view of the ocean and surrounding coconut trees where you can sit and enjoy the beauty of Zanzibar.

The rooms are all en-suite, fully tiled with hot and cold water, television, DVD Player with a wide selection of DVD's. The rooms have standing and ceiling fans. Mosquito nets ensure a peaceful night's sleep, with the sound of the ocean rounding off a relaxing day in paradise.

Laundry services are available.

Each room has a Tanzanian mobile phone. All telephone numbers for the dive operators, taxis and other tours are displayed in the rooms. Each phone is loaded with 1000 Tsh airtime. Extra airtime vouchers can be purchased at the Lodge should it be necessary.

Each room has a first-aid kit available for their use.

The Shark Tank Sports Bar

Game Fish Lodge has a fully stocked sports bar with cold beers, selected wines and spirits. With cable HD TV and a big screen, you can kick back and relax while catching up on your favourite sports or relax with a book or magazine from our library. In the evenings you can enjoy the music of Africa while watching the moon rise above the ocean, under the most beautiful star-studded skies in Zanzibar. Tea and coffee is available free of charge all day.

Dining

Game Fish Lodge has two restaurants. Our outdoor Sports Bar restaurant caters for lunches offering fast foods such as peri-peri/lemon and garlic chicken and chips, fresh fish and chips and hamburgers. The indoor Lodge Restaurant is for dinner only where a three course meals is served. Our meals consist of the freshest ingredients and are prepared daily. Our cuisine offers a fusion of South African and Swahili flavours. On windless evenings we offer barbecues on the beach.

Other Facilities

We offer a wide range of activities including deep sea fishing, snorkeling and scuba diving as well as a wide variety of tours and excursions, including the famous Zanzibar spice tour, sunset boating cruises, Jozani Forest treks, and Stone Town and Nungwi Village tours. Game Fish Lodge also has 2 motorbikes which can be rented. If you wish to make use of the transport, please bring an international driving license.

Directions

The Game Fish Lodge is located on the quieter North coast of the Island in the small village of Nungwi which is approximately an hour's drive from the airport and/or port.

1 hour drive (65km) from Stone Town and Zanzibar Airport
Access via a tarmac road to Nungwi Village with a 5 min drive on dirt road to the lodge
10 minute walk from Nungwi village, where you can visit the natural aquarium with sea turtles, watch
Dhows being built and see the local fish market in action
1 hour boat ride to Mnemba Island for Snorkelling and Scuba Diving
