Ryokan Takayama is a cozy traditional Japanese ryokan that boasts a long history and makes one feel very much at home. It is located just 10 min walk from JR Takayama Station, with easy access to all places of interest in the area.
Ryokan Takayama started as a tea house. The owner of the ryokan is now the fifth generation. The traditional appearance and atmosphere of the ryokan give people a very settled, relaxed feeling. There are 11 Japanese style guestrooms, clean and comfortable. The rock bath is the pride of the ryokan. It is a public bath, but can be reserved for private use. Please try a Japanese style bath, very relaxing and refreshing.
Dinner and breakfast are available with reservation. The ryokan offers delicious seasonal Japanese cuisines. Fresh Hida Takayama river fish, famous Hida beef, and local specialty Hoba Miso are all recommended dishes. The hospitality and the taste of traditional Takayama can surely make your trip unforgettable.
Location/Area: Takayama has been called a 'little Kyoto'. It contains old streets and buildings that are well preserved. Even though the town is small, it takes days to see all the museums, temples, shrines and sites. There are events throughout the year, and it is fun to visit any season.

From Osaka area: From JR Shin-Osaka Station to JR Nagoya Station, by Hikari Shinkansen, 52min. At Nagoya Station, switch to super-express train Wide-View Hida to JR Takayama Station, 155min.
By bus: ========= From Tokyo(Shinjuku) to Takayama, take a highway bus, about 5 hours. From Osaka(JR Tennoji) to Takayama, take a highway bus, about 5 hours 27 minutes.
We are about 7 min walk from JR Takayama station. After getting out the exit of the station, walk north and turn right at the second traffic light, where you see a Pachinko Parlor on the left side, and Hotel Araza on the right side of the street. Turn left at the first traffic light and walk about 50m, you will see the ryokan on the right side of the street. If you take a taxi from Takayama station, it is a 3 min ride, and cost 650yen.
