Vadu Izei - a village located at the confluence of the Iza and Mara rivers - is the perfect place to stop for a few days on your way to discover the historical Maramures, its traditions and its culture. Pensiunea ArdeleanThis is a perfect place from which to visit Iza, Mara, Cosau or Tisa Valleys.
From a large hall (the first floor) you walk up a nice wooden staircase to the next floor where 4 of the 5 bedrooms of the guesthouse are.
Here, tradition is combined with the comfort of modern life: wooden ceiling, wooden rugs and carpets (some old and some new made by my mother with natural plant dyes - this is not written in Romanian page), color TV, central heating, private bathroom, and a balcony to each rooms which provides a view to the village, the houses, the hills and the forests which are surround the area.
Ardelean guesthouse, located in Vadu Izei - around 500m from the main road (DN 18) at the end of a small lane, it is a very quiet place, having at the same time very nice views of forests, green hills and houses all around.
Coming from Sighetu Marmatiei at DN 18 to Baia Mare, after the cross with Iza Valley road, first street (lane) at right (near "Bar Raluca"), at approximately 500 m at right side. The guesthouse Ardelean is a wooden house with maramuresan gate.
