At Riverside Hostel we strive to create the kind of homely environment where guests can feel at ease. In a spacious and light filled double apartment in one of the oldest buildings in Budapest, the hostel is welcoming and colourful, featuring artworks from local artists and furnished with locally handmade recycled designs.
Located in the centre of the city, just 3 minutes walk from the river and seconds away from the main transportation lines- its quick and easy to get anywhere you want to go.
Our staff are approachable, helpful and can recommend parts of the city to visit that are not described in tourist maps and guides. If you are particularly interested in the real underground of bohemian Budapesti s vibrant art, music and cultural scene, our staff can point you in the right direction. If you need anything else just ask! We are here to help and want to you enjoy your experience in the city.
We use only chemical free and biologically friendly cleaning materials and do our best to reduce waste in whatever way we can.
Our fully-equipped mama-style kitchen is for everybodyi s use and we can show you where to buy locally grown organic produce. We have keyless entry for added security. The Wifi is free and we have a computer if you doni t. We also offer a laundry service-just ask!
To suit the needs of everyone, we offer budget dorm rooms for the shoe-string traveller, including one female dorm, and quiet and comfortable private rooms. This season we also have extra private rooms available in a beautiful apartment 5 minutes away from the Hostel- for those who prefer to explore independently.
Besides creating a great place for travellers to rest their heads, the crew at Riverside co-organise an ecological art gathering and music festival every year in August which is partly funded from the proceeds of the hostel.

PLEASE NOTE: Do not change money at the airport, train or bus stations. They give a bad rate. If you have no other choice just change a small amount to get you to the hostel 5-10 Euro maximum.
From Keleti Train Station (Keleti Palyaudvar):
Take the red metro line towards Deli Palyaudvar and get off at Blaha Lujza Ter (1 stop, buy transfer ticket). Take exit Jozsef Korut.Take tram number 4 or 6 towards Nyugati Palyaudvar and get off at Nyugati Pu (Western Railway Station)(4 stops).
Walk on the left hand side (100 m) towards Margit Hid (Margaret Bridge) on the Szent Istvan Korut, look for CIB Bank and Casio sign next to the entrance.
From Nyugati Palyaudvar (Western Railway Station):
Take a left hand side on Szent Istvan Korut.
Walk 100 m towards Margit bridgem look for CIB Bank and Casio sign next to the entrance.
From International Bus Station (Nepliget):
Take a blue metro line towards i jpest Varoskapu and get off at Nyugati Palyaudvar (Western Railway Station) (8 stops)
Take exit on Szent Istvan Korut.
Walk on the left hand side (100m); look for CIB Bank and Casio sign next to the entrance.
From the airport take the train service to Nyugati Palyaudvar (Train station).
Take the exit to Szent Istvan Korut, walk 100 m on the left side, look for CIB Bank and Casio sign next to the entrance.
There is also an airport mini bus or Zona Taxi which will take you directly to the hostel's address.
