The cottage is ideally located, within walking distance of three Universities, the RPA medical precinct, the Fish Markets, the cafes and funky shops of Newtown, Glebe, Annandale and Balmain. Buses direct to the city and to Coogee Beach are only minutes away. It is quiet, opposite a wildlife sanctuary, around the corner from a new children's playground and directly on the beautiful park walkway and cycle way to the harbour front at Blackwattle Bay.

Built in the 1860s, 121 Hereford is a small, delightful and amazingly accommodating house. It is surrounded by courtyard gardens on three sides, private and secure. Double doors open out the living area to the bamboo lined rear garden. There's lots of windows and lots of light.

The kitchen has all new appliances and is fully equipped for home cooking, including basic consumables and even a variety of cook books. Cutlery, glasses and dinner ware are provided for six with extra serving dishes and bowls. Wireless broadband internet included in the rates, printer supplied. There is a small digital TV, DVD and CD player and a collection of DVDs and CDs supplied. In addition the shelves are stocked with a variety of books and literature about Australia. There are overhead fans for the hottest days and heaters for the coldest. High chair and toys, childrens' books and DVDs can be supplied on request.

Sleeps up to six. One bathroom. There are two bedrooms with double beds, hanging space and drawers. There is extra space in the loft, reached by a pull down ladder in the front room. There are two single beds up there and a folding bed that could be brought down stairs.Also travel cot and high chair available. The beds and linen are high quality, extra linen is provided. Summer and winter weight duvets are supplied and there are extra blankets and pillows in the loft. The bathroom has an integrated laundry with washer, dryer and tub. Towels, beach towels and basic essentials are provided.

There is a telephone supplied for local calls and all utilities (gas, electricity, communications) are included in the rate. Cleaning services can be arranged on a weekly basis if desired and for an additional charge, typically about $80 a week.

Google maps to 121 Hereford Street, Forest Lodge. A taxi from the airport takes about thirty minutes and costs about $40. Alternatively take the airport train to Central and then take the 470 bus from Central Square, ask to be dropped off at Forest Lodge or Lyons Road.
