Hillcrest Country Inn's winding 1/4 mile driveway leads up to the main house, where we enjoy spectacular views from a setting of Napa Valley, vineyards and surrounding mountains. It's the perfect place to hike, sunbath, or just relax in the lush landscape of native trees, flowering shrubs, bamboo and palms. You can hike in the hills for 10 miles in complete solitude. Our small lake is stocked with bass and catfish and great for fishing, swimming, a rowboat ride or picinic on its grassy shoreline. Far from city lights we offer awe-inspiring views of starry night skies. Established in 1960, Hillcrest Country Inn was the vacation home to the larger Chateau Montelena Vineyard below, owned by State Senator Alfred Tubbs, my Grandparents, at the turn of the century were early Californians in Napa Valley's history.

The refrigerator in the guest kitchen dispenses filtered water and ice, and you may use it to store food and beverages as needed. Help yourself to drinking glasses, dishes and bottle openers kept in the main dining room. If you use our family kitchen or the outdoor bar-b-que to prepare your meals, please clean up after use. For outdoor dining, we ask that you supply your own disposal dishes and utensils, as well as charcoal briquettes and lighter fluid. All guests have 24-hour access to backyard lounge and recreation areas, including a patio, barbeque, and community recycling container. Hillcrest Country Inn supports a healthy planet and environment friendly practices. Our efforts toward green living include buying organic produce and using other healthful ingredients in preparing your meals whenever possible. We also use green laundry, cleaning and lighting products.

We take great pleasure in continuing our family's tradition of fine country entertaining. Enjoy sweeping views of the valley and mountains beyond as you relax in the indoor lounge, gather around the Steinway grand piano, or dine at a 12 foot long heirloom table set with elegant china and century old silver. We've equipped our anytime continental breakfast bar with a toaster, microwave and pots for coffee and hot water – and there's an assortment of cereals and beverages to choose from. Breakfast served from (:30 to 11:00 am on the weekends and holidays also includes fresh seasonal fruit, turnovers and a delightful vegetarian frittata. Guests staying Sunday through Thursday may request breakfast for an additional $25 per night. We are a pet friendly Bed & Breakfast Inn.

Pet Friendly
We charge a nightly fee of $10 per pet, includes dog sitting or walks on availability. We have friendly resident dogs who enjoy having many friends over the years on property.
Room Reservations
We prefer payment by check or cash whenever possible. Your credit card will guarantee your reservation. If you don't show and otherwise cancel your reservation less than 7 days prior to your arrival date, we may charge you for one night's stay, as prescribed by law.

DIRECTIONS TO HILLCREST COUNTRY INN
Hillcrest is located about 2 miles north of Calistoga on Highway 29, Lake County Highway. As the road starts climbing Mount St. Helena toward Middletown and makes a hairpin horseshoe turn, take the first left into our driveway marked with two stone pillars. Follow the winding driveway all the way up to the main house, it's porches and the main house are light gray. Just past the main entrance you'll find plenty of space to park in our large level lot. We post a daily welcome notice at the main entrance that shows what room you have and where to find it. You may check in anytime after 3:00pm and check out time is 12 Noon. Our front door is always open, so come and go as you like during your stay.
