NOTICE: Eastin Hotel Penang wishes to inform you that the Municipalities of Penang State is introducing a Local Government Fee (the Fee) to be paid by any guests staying in hotels in the state from 1 June 2014 onwards . The fee is to be used for the purposes of development and promotion of tourism infrastructures in Penang . Rates for the fee is collected based on the type of hotel at RM3 . 00 per room/night for 4 star and 5 star hotels . The fee is collected by the hotel is in addition to the hotel bill and is paid by the hotel to the Municipalities . The payment of the fee is mandatory and guests will be breaking the law if they fail to pay .
