Los Pinguinos is located in Pt Ayora on the island of Santa Cruz in the Galapagos.
We provide alternative accommodation for groups and individuals who want to explore the Galapagos independently and experience the hospitality of the local families.
It is primarily used by volunteers working in the nearby Charles Darwin research station. Other available volunteer positions are with the local hospital, schools, and ecological foundation.
Los Pinguinos has single, double, twin, and shared rooms. Tv with cable and Bathrooms and showers with hot water are in each room.
We have four rooms as follows: Room 1 has a double and a Bunk bed, Room 2 has two single beds and a bunk bed. Room 3 has one double bed and two single beds. Room 4 is a shared room which can fit seven people.
All rooms are shared unless you book all beds in them. We have an outdoor eating and common area. Close to Los Pinguinos are several small stores where you can buy personal supplies.
The check in time is 3pm. The check out is at 12:00 am.
Water: Due to lack of significant water sources on the island, please use water sparingly. Water is not drinkable and is at room temperature.
Los Pinguinos is less then a mile from the Charles Darwin research station and the port of Pt Ayora from where most of the Galapagos tours start. Bay tours, Lava tunnels tours, Highlands tours, daily boat service to other islands are avilable. Ask us for more information.
Directions
From the Baltra Airport in Galapagos take the bus to Pt Ayora. At the bus terminal taxis are available for $1 anywhere on the town limits. Take the taxi to the Barrio Escalesias ask the driver to take you one block further from the Policia Judicial toward the end of the street. We are located on the last block. Look for the picture of four pinguins to your right.
