Set in 76 acres of beech woodland and formal gardens, the historic country house sits on the shores of Lough Ourna, giving the visitor ample scope to pursue a wide range of activities including fishing, golf, sailing, horse riding and hiking. What better way to end the day than with a full four course dinner and wine in the red dining room, surrounded by gilt mirrors and gazing over the lake.

The house was fully renovated in 1993 with most rooms being redecorated in 2003. In particular, the drawing room and the red dining room were completely upgraded using fabrics and wall paper from Zophany and Colefax and Fowler. The verandah floorboards, hand rails and supports have all been replaced and repainted (just the roof to go!), which now enables guests to stoll out of the rooms on warm summer nights.

The gardens at Ashley Park are set in nearly eighty acres of mature beech woodland. The estate is maintained as a bird sanctuary for indigenous and migratory species of wildfowl. The island on the lake, Louch Ourna, with its ruined castle, provides a safe haven for breeding. The central piece to the gardens is a walled garden set with gazeboes, greenhouses and a gardener's cottage set into the wall of the garden.

Apart from the Gardens and 77 acres of beech woodland, there are, fairy forts, tree-lined drives, lakeside paths, lodges and even a castle to explore.

The stables have been refurbished recently and have been used in the past as a horse stud and a training centre. Presently they are used to stable guests' horses.

Ashley Park House can have a licensed to hold a civil wedding ceremony or the traditional wedding where the wedding ceremony is held in a church. The bridal party arrive back at Ashley Park House to a hot punch or a drink of their choice knowing they will be the only guests at the house; they will have total privacy. We may not be able to arrange the weather but we will do everything in our power to ensure everything on your wedding day goes off with out a hitch. Whether you are looking for an exclusive gathering or a large celebration we can make your wedding day dream come true.
