An impressive new entrance lobby and reception hall has been opened since April 2010. Corinthian columns and a paved exterior approach give way to an automatic glass door into the large lobby. This area has marble tiles, lofty ceilings with brass chandeliers and armchair seating areas. The main feature is the 1860's original Victorian fireplace of superior walnut in a neo-classical style with engaged three quarter Corinthian columns agapanthus and egg and dart carving surround the fireplace. Steps or, if required, a lift - take the guest up into the reception hall and the new walnut check-in/reception desk where our staff are pleased to assist you. This area joins seamlessly onto the original part of the house. The original 17th century entrance still remains for the tradionalists amongst you.
