La Lanterna Traveller Hostel is near PAESTUM archeological site.
La Lanterna is a small, independently owned and family run youth hostel, two minutes walk from the sea and close to important historical sites including Paestum and Pompei. An international atmosphere with all the warmth of small-town southern Italy.
The grounds are large and very green with several places to socialize or spend solitary time. The main beach is a two minute walk from the front gates. Several additional beautiful beaches are nearby. There are sea views from much of the hostel and spectacular sunsets over the sea.
We offer home-cooked, three-course italian meals every evening. There is a well-stocked cafe/bar with books, games, music, and television.
It's a short walk to the old city (dating back to the greek era). A beautiful town with narrow, winding streets, a castle, and incredible views over the harbor.
We are a small hostel with only 40-50 beds in the main building. Dorm rooms have four to 6 beds in each. As well, there are 20 beds available in private rooms and bungalows. If you want one of these, please call ahead to be sure.
School groups, tours, and special-needs groups are welcome. We ask that you please pre-book, however. Separate shower and toilet facilites are available for those with special requirements. Parking is also
available.
