1st Day (FRIDAY) - BUCHAREST Today you will arrive in Bucharest, the Romanian capital, settled around a few old villages and first stated in documents by Vlad the Impaler in the end of the 15th century. The tour drives you on boulevards, which were cut mainly in the 19th century. The palaces and mansions were built in about the same period. French and Romanian architects gave the city the elegant touch of late 19th century. You will visit the Old Quarter including former merchant houses and Oriental caravanserais, you will admire impressive palaces along Calea Victoriei (Cantacuzino, Romanit, the Royal Palace, CEC), and also have one choice out of three museum options. • Arrival on Otopeni Airport (morning arrival recommended), transfer to the hotel • Tour of the city including one visit of three (the Palace of the Parliament, the Royal Palace or the Village Museum, at your choice) • Visits to Stavropoleos Church • Optional (if January – June; September – December): classical music concert at the Athenaeum (no included) • Optional: dinner in a local restaurant, such as Bistro Athenaeum or La Taifas (not included) • Overnight at a 3* hotel in the city centre
2nd Day (SATURDAY) - BUCHAREST – Carpathian Mountains – Sinaia Monastery - Peles Castle and Pelisor Castle – BUCHAREST From Bucharest, the road takes you to the Carpathian Mountains, to Sinaia - the summer residence of the former kings of Romania. You will visit the two castles in Sinaia, i.e. Peles and Pelisor castles, set up in different styles by the Romanian royal family. In the same resort you will visit Sinaia Monastery around which the whole settlement developed. • Transfer to Sinaia (120 km., cca. 2 hours) • Visit to Peles and Pelisor castles • Visit to Sinaia Monastery • Transfer back to Bucharest (120 km., cca. 2 hours) • Optional: dinner in a traditional restaurant in Bucharest, such as Vatra (not included) • Overnight at a 3* hotel in the city centre
3rd Day (SUNDAY) – BUCHAREST – Mogosoaia Palace – Bucharest OTP Airport Today you will leave the city and go to the countryside, to visit Mogosoaia Palace. Raised in the only local architectural style by Prince Constantin Brancoveanu, Mogosoaia Palace is set around a fine garden on a lake shore. It is impressive especially through its carved stone decorations and fine mixture of Oriental and Baroque designs. • Visit to Mogosoaia Palace • Optional: lunch at Mogosoaia Palace (not included) • Transfer to Bucharest OTP Airport
