Day 1Upon arrival in Cairo airport, we meet and assist you with your entry formalities then transfer you to you chosen 5-star hotel in Cairo.
Day 2After a pre-tour meeting we take you on a full day tour to the Pyramids, Sphinx in Gisa and to Zoser's steop pyramid in Saqqara. Your guide for the day will be a fully trained Egyptologist.
Day 3Today we visit the sprawling Egyptian Museum, with its world famous Tutankhamen collection. We then take a tour of Cairo city, stopping at the Citadel, the Khan al Kalili bazaar and the churches of Choptic Cario. At the end of the day we board the overnight sleeper train to Aswan (flight option available).
Day 4Arriving in Aswan we transfer you to your chosen 5-star hotel. The rest of the day is spent visiting the Nubian Museum, which give an interesting insight into the day to day lives of the local Nubians, and the island temple of Philae, situated on the nearby Lake Nasser.
Day 5 - 6Early this morning there is the option to take a short flight to Abu Simbel and the Temple of Ramses II, reclaimed form the rising waters of Lake Nasser. Later in the morning we board our luxury 5-star cruise boat. In the afternoon we enjoy a felucca trip to the islands around Aswan, before setting sail down the Nile. En route we stop at the riverside temples of Komombo and Edfu before finally arriving in Luxor.
Day 7Early this morning we head across to the West bank of the Nile to explore the world famous Valley of the Kings, visiting a number of Pharonic tombs. We also stop at the temple of Queen Hatchepsut, Egypt's only female Pharaoh, and the Medinat Habu temples, before heading back across the Nile to Luxor.
Day 8This morning we take a tour of the East bank at Luxor. This will include visits to the Temples of Luxor & Karnak. Both these impressive temples are immense in size and stand as a testament to the power and might of the ancient Egyptian Pharaohs. The option of a sunrise hot air balloon ride is also available today. At the end of the day we board our overnight sleeper train back to Cairo.
Day 9Today is a free day in Cairo. You can enjoy it at your leisure or take and optional day trip to nearby Alexandria, which is most famous for its Citadel and Roman remains. Alternatively there is the optional overnight desert trip to the Al Fayoum Oasis, Wadi Rayan and the Valley of the Whales.
Day 10Your last day is free to do some last minute shopping or a little more sightseeing, before we transfer you back to the airport for your flight home.
