Blue Mountain is a wilderness Retreat situated 1,000 ft. asl. in the magnificent Blue Mountains. Named after a nearby coffee growing mountain village, the camp site is located is in the Parish of Portland, just 25 minutes drive from Jamaica's north coast. A 1.6 km. hiking trail from the village square through the forest leads to this rustic but comfortable retreat.
The site offers services which include: tents, cabin (Sleeps 4), beds, outdoor cooking, showers, laundry area and bathrooms. Meals are served on request or you can self-serve (cook your own meals)
Blue Mountain Wilderness Retreat is a true wilderness, peaceful and quite. While there is no electricity, there are beautiful vistas, great birding opportunities, hiking trails to scenic rivers and breathtaking water falls in the Blue Mts. The hospitality of a friendly coffee growing community will help to make your stay a memorable experience.
Directions
The closest access town is Buff Bay, which is located along the island's north coast about 30 Km. west of the Parish Capital of Port Antonio. From Buff Bay a 2 hour hike or a 25 minute drive by local taxi via the village of Tranquility will lead to the village of Bangor Ridge. Ask in the town square for 'Andy Parks' the Camp Site supervisor who lives nearby, he will guide you to the site and make all arrangements for your accommodation.
