Villa Mateja

Villa Mateja is a recently built private hotel situated on the attractive Dalmatic Island of Čiovo. We offer different sized rooms (double, triple and quadruple) as well as two additional 4-bed apartments in the neighbouring building. Altogether we offer accommodation for 45 guests.

Meals are served in our own restaurant 'Mateja' which is open to visitors (a-la Carte).

Villa Mateja is located 100 m from the Adriatic Sea and 200 m from the nearest beach which one can reach either on foot through a scented pine forest or by car. Close to the beach, covered with pebbles, is also a place where one can moor boat or a smaller yacht. Those more adventurous can find their place for sun tanning on the natural beaches, in the small bays and on the rocks beside the sea. There are also many other beaches close to our Villa, for example at the very end of the island (10 min on foot, access also by car).

All the rooms in Villa Mateja are en-suite and have a balcony overlooking the sea and the pine forest. The rooms are equipped with high quality wooden furniture, television set and fridge with integrated 10 l freezing part. There is also air conditioning which enables maximum freshness throughout the summer months. In addition, Villa Mateja offers free Wireless Internet connection.

Directions

Access to Čiovo is possible by car (map), by bus from Zagreb, Split and Trogir directly to our Villa (Bus information Trogir, Bus information Split, Bus information Zagreb), by train to Split (Croatia Railways), by ferry from some Croatian and Italian cities to Split (Jadrolinija), and by aeroplane (airport Split is 15 km away from Villa Mateja).

Directions - arriving by car:

Leave the motorway at the exit for Trogir and drive directly into the town. Continue towards the town centre and traverse a small bridge. Then take the right, in direction of the village Okrug Gornji, where you should arrive after a scenic 10 min drive. When the road in Okrug Gornji takes you uphill turn to the right, in the direction of our village Okrug Donji. After a 10 min drive through lush woodland you will arrive to the village centre of Okrug Donji. As you see the post office, keep on driving a few more hundred mts until the road splits into two: the upper Put Kave and the lower Put Punte. Our Villa is the second edifice located on the left-hand side of Put Punte, no. 3.
