We are right on Hollywood Boulevard in the heart of Hollywood with a view of the Hollywood sign from our courtyard. You'll be walking distance from all the action of Hollywood and centrally located in Los Angeles, the hostel is close to the subway and bus stops to get around the "City of the Angels". This is a Cool Hollywood Motel that has been remodeled into a "colorful retro designed" youth hostel, and right next door is LA's best Thai restaurant with fantastic $5 lunches and delicious $10 dinners....
Accommodations
The Banana Bungalow Hollywood Hostel offers a lot for the international backpacker. The two main spots for hostels in Los Angeles are Hollywood and Venice Beach. Of the Hollywood and Los Angeles hostels the Banana has important amenities that other hostels just don’t have. All the dorms have kitchens and cable TV right in the rooms. Wireless is free throughout the building and there are mac computers that offer free internet access if you don’t have a lap top. There is free breakfast, a basketball area, laundry and also a lounge and courtyard for gatherings and socializing.

Prices are complete and include 14% Los Angeles City tax when applicable. Prices are subject to change at anytime. More than 2 people in a private is $10 per extra person. A Valid VISA OR MASTERCARD CREDIT CARD IS REQUIRED TO RESERVE or stay in a private. No debit cards. For dorms only a $40 cash deposit can be given instead of a credit card. Airport get a FREE SHUTTLE by taking the shuttle below and saving your receipt, then we will reimburse you at check in when you pay for 4 nights in advance.
"Prime Time" shuttles have red vans with white writing and pick up in front of arrivals for $15 call 1-800-473-3743. Our address is 5920 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood.
From Downtown Los Angeles Alameda Union Train Station:
Take Alameda Street South and get on the 101 Freeway North, 5.5 miles. Get off on the Hollywood Boulevard exit and make a left. Past Bronson we are directly after 'The Palms Thai' restaurant on the left. Pull into the courtyard. If you hit Gower Ave, you went too far. If you don't have a car, take the Metro Redline (LA's Subway) to the Hollywood and Vine stop, then walk 3 blocks East on Hollywood Blvd. past Toyota to 5920 Hollywood Boulevard.
From the Hollywood Greyhound Bus Station:
Make a right onto Cahuenga Blvd heading south for 0.05 miles. Make a left on Hollywood Boulevard and head East for 0.2 miles until you pass the Toyota Dealership. We are the first buliding after that. If you pass Bronson Avenue, you went too far. If you don't want to walk , take the local bus #217 heading East on Hollywood Blvd. to Bronson then walk back slightly to 5920 Hollywood Blvd.
From Los Angeles International Airport (LAX):
Take the ramp to the 105 East for 0.1 miles. Merge onto S. Sepulveda Blvd. 0.6 miles. Take the ramp to the 105 East and go 6.7 miles. Take the exit onto the 110 North toward Los Angeles and go 8.2 miles. Take the exit for the 101 North toward Hollywood and go 4.9 miles. Get off on the Hollywood Boulevard exit turn left, past Bronson we are directly after 'The Palms Thai' restaurant on the Left. Pull into the courtyard. If you hit Gower Avenue, you went too far. If you don't have a car, catch the shuttle to the "Green Line Metro Station" at the airport. Buy a day pas and take the Green Line to 'Norwalk'. Get off and transfer to the 'Imperial & Wilmington Blue Line Transfer'. Take the Blue line to the "7th & Metro Red Line Station Transfer". Take the Red Line to "Hollywood & Vine"stop, then walk 3 blocks East on Hollywood Blvd. past Toyota to 5920 Hollywood Boulevard.
