Cross Lanes was originally built as a private house in the reign of Queen Victoria and converted to a hotel in 1959 . The Victorian features and homely feeling have been carefully preserved to this day . The superb oak panelling in the front hall, older than the original house, dates back to the Jacobean period circa 1618 . It was rescued from Emral Hall in Worthenbury and carefully restored at Cross Lanes .
