Description
The County Hotel occupies the oldest building in Carlisle city center . Built during the reign of King George III and occasionally used by royalty during the 19th century this building overlooks the impressive twin Sandstone Towers of Henry VIIIs citadel . The building was converted into a hotel in 1990 retaining the decor and grandeur befitting its Georgian history while providing modern amenities to both leisure and business travelers .
