Tortuguero is a National Park located in the Caribbean of Costa Rica and was created in 1975 to protect the green turtle. There are more than 73.000 hectares between the canals and the rain forest where you can will more than 2,400 species of plants and trees, 87 species of mammals, more than 150 species of amphibians and reptiles and more than 400 species of birds including the migratory ones.
Our B&B has single, double and triple rooms with ocean view. Hot water is supplied 24hrs days, meals are provided and we have local tour guides with expert knowledge to take you on various types of tours:
*Hiking Tours Where you can see monkeys, mammals, birds, frogs, snakes, and much more!
*Canal Tours Take a boat through the canals and enjoy river turtles, Caymans, basilisk, snakes, monkeys, sloths, mammals, and birds.
*Turtle Tour (in season between July & September) See the Turtles laying eggs at night. This is a wonderful process that people from around the world come to see every year.

Directions
By Bus: Take a bus from San Jose to Cariari (Caribeños Bus Stop) at Barrio Turnon.
Bus leaves every day at 9am for Cariari.In public transportation please keep allways your backpack in front of you
In Cariari take the bus to La Pavona Port at 11.30 am.
After 45 min ride , You will be taking the boat to Tortuguero.
By Car: Take the Braulio Carrillo highway to Guapiles, leave the highway in Guapiles and turn left to Cariari. After Cariari look for la Pavona Port were you will find a parking lot where you can leave your car and take the boat to Tortuguero. Boat leaves at 7.00 am 1.00 pm and 4.00 pm from san jose up to la Pavona is 3 hours drive
By Plane: Planes go to Tortuguero every day from San Jose, Costa Rica.
At 6am from Pavas Airport. (Tobias Bolaños Airport) It is a 25 min flight.
