In a big organic farm near Urbino (Le Marche), we grow our own products that we cook into gorgeous breakfasts and dinners. The Locanda is perfect for touring many Renaissance towns or just relaxing in the swimming pool. Good english spoken. Starting at
$50 per night
Our charming small country house lies in a 185-acre organically run farm, in sight of the town of Urbino (recently registered in UNESCO's World Heritage List), nestling in a landscape of gentle, rolling hills, rich in wild flora and fauna, where ancient oaks are still protected as they were in the times of the Dukes of Montefeltro. Nearby towns are Assisi, Gubbio, Urbania, Arezzo, Città di Castello, Pesaro, Mondavio, San Leo. Ten minutes away from the Locanda visit the Furlo Gorge (Natural Park) and just a short stroll away the Monte S. Bartolo Park, the Frasassi Caves and many other beauties of Le Marche (one of the hidden treasures of Italy) and nearby Umbria and Tuscany.
Always keeping in mind the philosophy that "…one should tread lightly on the earth…", we grow organically our own wheat, fruits and vegetables and raise our cattle, pigs and poultry with 100 per cent natural feed; from our fresh organic produce we make our own bread and pasta, jams, wine and traditional home cooking all as flavourful as they are healthy. In Autumn we also have truffles from our woods. Our first priority is the comfort of our guests: so our rooms were designed to provide a quiet stay and are both acoustically and thermically insulated. The home is fitted with solar collectors and the heating system is run using renewable energy, so as not to waste precious resources. The smiling service and high standards of both food and accomodation will best suit persons seeking superior quality in an elegant and tranquil setting, the perfect location for exploring the delights of Central Italy and many famous Renaissance towns. Guests may swim in our pool, enjoying a sweeping view of the landscape.
