Flagstaff, Arizona is located at 7000 feet elevation at the base of the San Francisco Peaks and is 75 miles from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Nearby attractions also include the Hopi and Navajo reservations, petroglyph sites, several National Monuments, ancient ruins, Meteor Crater, and extensive National Forest lands for outdoor sports. The Snowbowl and Flagstaff Nordic Center offer downhill and cross country skiing. Rock climbing areas abound.
The Abineau Lodge was built in 1997. The Lodge is wood sided and features lots of interior woodwork reclaimed from various buildings torn down around the country including the original Sears catalogue building in Chicago and a cotton gin in Alabama. Surrounded by Ponderosa pines and mountain meadows the Lodge borders acres of public lands and sits on its own 4 acre parcel. The property is the site of an old dairy farm, one of the original homesteads in the area, and still hosts a log cabin built around the turn of last century.
