The Milliken House is a large, gracious 1846 Victorian home furnished with the ornately carved, marble-topped furniture, knick knacks and books with which the builder, Benjamin F. Milliken, furnished his home. Guests may enjoy a complimentary glass of port or sherry in the large double living room, containing two marble fireplaces where there is cable television, board games, and a fire on coolish days. Bed-side chocolates and fresh flowers in season welcome guests to their rooms. The Milliken House is noted for its breakfasts, which are sumptuous, and as elegant as the heavy carved diningroom furniture from which they are served. The house is surrounded by perennial and annual flower beds. From the kitchen herb garden, Mrs. Weber selects herbs and edible flowers for her breakfasts.
There are five guest rooms. The three on the second floor each have a private bath. Two of them have a double bed, one of them has a queen-sized bed. The third floor has two bedrooms. Each of them contain a double bed plus a single bed. They share a bath.
Hosts are Paul and Joyce Weber. Mrs. Weber is an artist and maintains a large studio on the third floor. When guests are artists, they are welcome to full use of the studo.
From Rt.1 take Rt.190, a seven mile drive. Curves sharply to the left as it comes into town. Becomes Washington Street. We are 29 Wash. St. on left two blocks down. Drive two buildings beyond the house, take a left, then another left to parking at rear.
