This classic three story brick building was built by a retired sea captain in 1889 for $28,000.00. Built in the Richardson Romanesque style, the building's arched windows appear to extend for two stories. The ceilings are fourteen feet high, and the windows are twelve feet high. The rooms range from a Continental which share a bath in the hall to a suite with a living room, bedroom and kitchen. Most of the rooms have small refrigerators and microwaves (with popcorn), all have coffe/tea service, and color, cable TV. There are two smoking rooms, 14 non smoking rooms, and pets are welcome for $10.00/pet/day.
Each room is uniquely decorated in the same manner it was at the turn of the last century and furnished with antiques. Beds range from twin to king in size, one room has an old fashioned jacuzzi tub, the continental bath has a six foot claw foot tub (we supply the bubble bath) and an oversized, stall shower, several of the rooms have a waterview, there is one working wood stove, all the rooms are more spacious than average with lots of natural light, and all have color, cable TV.
There is a Conference Room, an outlet and phone line for a modem on the second floor in the sitting area, a fax/copy machine in the office, and a guest laundry (non coin-op) available from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
