The townhouse is located in the historic Capitol Hill section one block from Lincoln Park where families, joggers, and dog walkers meet. It is only 12 blocks from the U.S. Capitol and within easy walking distance of the Library of Congress, Supreme Court, House and Senate Buildings, and fine restaurants. The brick walled patio and fenced garden is accessed through French doors from the private suite and the living room of the main house. The home has an eclectic collection of furnishings and art work that reflects the travel and interests of the owners.
The entire lower level of the Capitol Hill Townhouse provides a suite with a private brick walled patio accessed through French doors that leads to garage parking. The bedroom with a king-size bed and adjoining bath, has a built-in closet and chest of drawers for clothing. The beautifully appointed kitchen has a full size range, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and small appliances. The kitchen-family room has an island that extends into a bar complete with bar stools for informal breakfasts if guests do not want to dine at the comfortable 40's style dinette or on the patio. The family room has a color TV, VCR and stereo as well as a sofa that provides comfortable seating and a full size sleeper. The red brick floor and fireplace in the kitchen-family room adds to the feeling of being at home in the country while enjoying the historic sights of our Nations Capitol.
THE TWIN BEDROOM (3 night minimum reservation): Twin bed, dresser, desk, comfortable chair and lighting, TV, telephone, large closet, and private bath.
Whatever cuisine you might fancy is available in the hundreds of Washington restaurants. Night clubs can be found in Georgetown, Adams Morgan and other areas of the city. The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Shakespeare, Warner, National, and Ford's theater as well as local theater groups offer an extensive selection of performances. In summer free concerts are given on the Capitol grounds, the Marine Barracks, and the Naval Yard. Also, many free cultural programs and events are scheduled at the Smithsonian Museums.
Garage parking can be made available for guests arriving by automobile. Guests arriving by plane or train as well as those arriving by car will find that public transportation will meet all sightseeing requirements making a car unnecessary while visiting Washington.
Reservation forms will be e-mailed or faxed to you upon request. A $100 deposit (personal check, cashier's check, money order) is required with the completed reservation form. Balance is due on arrival. If cancellation occurs with less than 30 days notice a refund of the deposit will be made only if the suite is re-booked.
